DeviceXPlorer OPC Server Ver.7.4.0 is released.

We released new version "Ver.7.4.0" of industrial communication software "DeviceXPlorer OPC Server".

In this version, various new functions have been added, specifications have been improved, and bugs have been fixed, so upgrading is recommended.

Main New Features

  • Support for a function for users to create protocol definitions and communicate with machines using configured definitions (Ethernet/Serial) in the User Protocols function.
  • Support for arguments in method tags for the OPC UA Server function.
  • Support for importing global labels in the MELSEC safety PLC file project in the Melsec EZSocket communication function.
  • Support for Fanuc Robot Controllers (R-30iB Mate Series, R-30iB Plus, R-30iB Mate Plus, R-30iB Compact Plus, R-30iB Mini Plus Series) in the Modbus Ethernet communication function.
  • Support for B&R PLCs (X20 Series) in the OPC UA communication function.

Main Improvements

  • Changed the specification to allow specification of encoding (ANSI or UTF-8) during CSV Import/Export of settings.
  • Changed the specification to allow sourceTimestamp and ServerTimestamp values read from connected OPC UA Servers to be used for the Timestamp tag in the OPC UA server and client function.
  • Added a function to send only information for tags that had changed in the HTTP and MQTT client communication function.

Main Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the vulnerability(CVE-2023-3935) caused by CodeMeterRuntime.
  • Fixed the vulnerability(CVE-2023-51777/CVE-2023-51778/CVE-2024-22102/CVE-2024-22103/CVE-2024-22104/CVE-2024-22105/CVE-2024-25087) caused by EZSocket.
  • Fixed the issue where an OPC UA A&C event was not generated if the tag settings were changed while the tag with an alarm setting was being monitored by an OPC UA client applications in the OPC UA server function.

 

New feature of Ver.7.4.0: "User Protocols"

User protocols are functions that allow customers to create their own protocol definitions without coding,
enabling communication with the devices they want to connect.
