"Could't start. Use Service Control Manager" message is displayed at startup.

This error will be displayed when the OPC Server is launched as a normal application nevertheless it's registerd as a service program.

Less than Windows10 (such as Windows7 and 8)

To display the screen of the OPC Server, turn on the "Interactive Services Detection" from "Services" of the control panel.

Also, turn on the "Allow service to interact with desktop" item in the logon item of the OPC Server properties.

Windows10 or later

Since Windows 10 or later don't support "Interactive Service Detection" service, it is not possible to display the screen of the OPC Server which running as a service. 

To display the screen, follow the procedure below to unregister from service program.

  1. Stop the service of “DeviceXPlorer OPC Server 6” from "Service" of the control panel.
  2. Run Command Prompt as Administrator and move current directory to the installation directory.
    (Ex. "C:\Program Files (x86)\TAKEBISHI\DeviceXPlorer OPC Server 6\Bin").
  3. Enter "DeviceXPlorer / RegServer" and execute.

 

* DCOM settings for DeviceXPlorer OPC Server are also initialized by this procedure. Please be careful.
