I/O Server

Introduction of MELSEC Serial I/O Server

The transmission rate came to be able to go up to 115Kbps, too and to put out a hurried performance to the network , for example, Ethernet recently though serial (RS232C) interface has been used for a long time by the communication usage between various equipment in the point that it is possible to construct it easily though it is lesser.

I/O Server is supported up to the maximum baud rate 38400bps, and corresponds to all the MELSEC serial commmunication units. If it is a board of RS422/485 that the personal computer side recognizes as COM port, even when Serial Communicatioin Unit for RS422/485 is used, it is possible to use it without trouble.

Because protocol (Format1/Format4/Format5) and the maximum access point, etc. are automatically optimized with sequencer (MELSEC-Q/QnA/A) used, the best communication only in an easy setting can be done.

Main Window
MELSEC Serial I/O Server

It is possible to set it easily because there are only three configuration items of I/O Server.

Port Configuration
Port Configuration

"COM Port" The baud rate, the data length, and the RS232C parameter of parity etc. are set on a set screen.

Topic Definition
Topic Definition

"TOPIC Definition" The screen does a peculiar setting to PLC such as another station accesses via the COM port number and MELSECNET and the accesses to multi CPU system. When the MELSEC-A series is used, the protocol supports Format1 or Format4. (Default is Format1) Moreover, binary mode (Format5) in case of the MELSEC-Q series and the QnA series. Because random data is returned in the Debacc environment for which the sequencer cannot be prepared when the simulation facilit is checked, work can be smoothly proceeded.

Server Settings
Server Settings

"Server Setting" The screen does a peculiar setting to I/O Server. It is possible to use like the default setting, and when it starts as a service program that operates even if the customer is not logging in Windows, and the internal processing interval to operate at super-high speed changes, it is possible to set it from this screen in many cases.

NOTE
- It corresponds to all MELSEC Serial Communication Unit.
- It corresponds to Multiple CPU System.
- Another station accessing via MELSECNET is also possible from the serial commmunication connection station.
- The baud rate is supported up to 38400bps.
- The protocol supports form 1 or Format4(MELSEC-A) and Format5(MELESEC-Q/QnA).
