Introduction of MELSEC Ethernet I/O Server

Many of personal computers are equipping normally the Ethernet interface, and a high-speed communication named 10M/100Mbps doesn't put the cost, and being possible to achieve it easily are the charms of Ethernet. The I/O Server supports the random access buffer communication where a maximum speed communication can be achieved without receiving the influence of both and CPU of the TCP/IP protocol and the UDP/IP protocol at the scan time to use all functions of MELSEC full. Moreover, because the point of the maximum access for the protocol and each packet etc. are automatically optimized with PLC (MELSEC-Q/QnA/A) used, the best communication only in an easy setting can be done.

Main Window
MELSEC Ethernet I/O Server

It is possible to set it easily because there are only three configuratioin items of the I/O Server.

Port Configuration
Port Configuration

A physical parameter like IP address and the port number, etc. on the selection, the PC side, and the PLC side of the protocol is set on "Port Configuration" screen. IP address of a primary adaptor is displayed by default, and when two or more LAN adaptors are used, the manual operation of IP address on the PC side can be input. When the DHCP system that dynamically allots IP address is used, IP address is set as "0.0.0.0".

Topic Definition
Topic Definition

"TOPIC Definition" The screen does a peculiar setting to PLC such as the kind of PLC used, another station accesses via MELSECNET, and the accesses to multi CPU system. Because random data is returned in the Debacc environment for which PLC cannot be prepared when the simulation facilit is checked, work can be smoothly proceeded. Moreover, it is also possible to confirm whether to access PLC even if the client software is not started up with "Connection Check" button by the set parameter beforehand.

Server Settings
Server Settings

"Server Setting" The screen does a peculiar setting to I/O Server. It is possible to use like the default setting, and when it starts as a service program that operates even if the customer is not logging in Windows, and the internal processing interval to operate at super-high speed changes, it is possible to set it from this screen in many cases.

NOTE
- It corresponds to all MELSEC Ethernet units.
- It corresponds to multi CPU system. (It can access CPU1?4 respectively. )
- Another station access via MELSECNET is also possible from the Ethernet connection station.
- Two or more LAN adaptors are supported.
- It is possible to use it with TCP/IP and UDP/IP.
